Wright has asked to be executed

A federal appeals court has ordered a judge in Pittsburgh to determine if William Wright, the death row inmate from Blair County who wants to be executed, is mentally competent.
A three-judge panel from the Third U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, including Chief Judge Theodore A. McKee and Judges Dolores Sloviter and Ruggero J. Aldisert, on Wednesday dismissed a request by Wright that would clear the way for his execution.
